Frank Doan, a Case knife collector, born in Santa Barbara, California.

Frank took over the family house moving business in 1963 in Ventura, Calif.,
where he grew up and was educated. Frank's grandfather established this
business in 1905 and used horse teams  to pull the houses along.

In 1979 he decided to collect limited edition Case knives by purchasing them from his buddy, Joe Muzio, who owned the Saticoy Hardware Store. Frank and Joe became collecting partners and always bought the same knives or sets.  They both joined the Southern California Blades Knife Collectors Club  in 1981(?) and have always made it to the shows.

Frank has an impressive display of Case knives that he hopes to show at the Knife Expo 2001, representing very old W R Case and Sons knives, some almost 100 years old, as well as newer collections.  Frank has several old, cherry wood, hardware store, display cases that he has incorporated into
his collection.

In 1999 Frank set up a shop and made his first knife.  Now he is experimenting and crafting metal, trying out handle materials and moving into another phase of the "Knife Life." 

His first love is still the pursuit of and collecting Case knives.
