GUARANTEE/CERTIFICATION

I certify that every knife is handmade in my workshop.  I further certify that each blade is heat treated in my ovens to produce a consistently high quality blade.  I warrant that each knife made is free from defects in workmanship and materials.

Dawson knives are among the finest made anywhere in the world today. Dawson knives are famous throughout the USA and many other countries of the world. Most important to their maker, Barry Dawson, they are revered by those whose trust their lives and there welfare to them. Barry has received reports from loyal customers worldwide who have literally bet there lives on his workmanship and have come away winners.

Barry started out over 20 years ago making knives for his own personal use. Others became interested in his knives and as the demand grew he found that knife making demanded more and more of his time. It wasn't long before he was making knives full time.

His first efforts were practical and nothing to look at but they were more than up to the job. The increasing demand for exotic and beautiful knife materials drew him into art knives and original creations. It wasn't long before he was making swords. today he makes Japanese style swords the American way. The spirit of the American Samurai is embodied in Barry's sword making and lives in the cold steel of his blades.

Barry is a professional knife maker with knife making as his sole support.  Barry is very unique in that he does virtually all the work himself.  From laying out the blank on a flat bar of steel to the final finish it's Dawson made.  If  that weren't enough he personally makes each sheath himself.  That's quite a feat when you consider a wood scabbard for a Katana may take two weeks to complete.  He also anodizes the titanium he uses to produce unique and beautiful colors.

Although Barry generally uses the best cutlery grade 440c steel he has made knives from many other fine steels, ranging from ATS34 to Damascus. He also anodizes the Titanium he uses to produce unique and beautiful colors.

Barry is perhaps the most prolific knife maker in the world today in that he makes more styles and types of knives out of more different and exotic materials than anyone else. Barry is sometimes asked at Knife Shows whether his work is the best. He replies that that is not for him to decide; but that he does the very best work he can. When you order your first DAWSON knife you are joining the proud and loyal family of Dawson Knife users and collectors.

Barry doesn't know how many more years he'll be able to keep up his current pace.  Eventually, he'll have to slow down a bit. He asks his friends to please be patient with him if from time to time he's a little late with their order. He's only one man and he does all the work himself from start to finish.
